Values

Sustainable Energy is community property and as such its power and economic return should benefit the community it comes from first.

The benefits of sustainable energy far outweigh its drawbacks. We understand and accept that there will be some inconvenience associated with changes required to transition to this new clean energy infrastructure.

Governance

Windy Hills Caledon Renewable Energy is a non-profit organization that was established in August of 2004. It is governed by and runs under the By-laws that have been authored and approved by the organization’s board of directors and members. It is now operating under by-law #2 which was ratified unanimously by its members on May 13th, 2008.

Windy Hills has a board of directors that consists of 5 of its members in good standing, as elected by its membership at its annual meeting, held in the spring of each year. Each director is elected for a 2 year term, with 3 director terms ending in odd numbered years and 2 director terms ending in even numbered years. This insures the organization maintains continuity as directors are elected and retire. Retiring directors may stand for re-election should they choose to do so.

The Windy Hills board of directors meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in various locations throughout Caledon. Some meetings are open where members are welcome to attend as observers. All meeting dates will be posted on this site in the Calendar section with their “open” or “closed” status listed on the site.
